Your Investment

There are various levels of cost to consider when creating a new website.

Initial Development

Your investment in the development of your site with us starts at $1600 CDN (plus applicable HST for Canadian clients).

This includes:

  • the first year of payment for the theme we use for your site.
  • the basic design for your site
  • creation and population of typical pages, including your home page, about, services, contact and blog
  • up to four hours of training on updating your website and adding blog articles, including on-page SEO.
  • registering your domain name and setting up hosting
  • Setting up your online booking platform (your choice) and email list if you choose to have one and add them to the site.

Initial costs not included:

  1. An online booking application. These apps range in price from $0 and up. Calendly for example has a $10 (US) a month plan and provides more features than the free version.
  • fees for an online booking platform such as Calendly (starts at $0 and goes up depending on features) or Acuity Scheduling (starts at $16 US per month)
  • fees for an email marketing platform such as Mail Chimp or Aweber (both start at $0 and go up depending on features)
  • cost for your domain name registration (about $16) and web hosting (pricing varies depending on which hosting company you choose). We like Siteground. They have a special offer for new clients which is $7.49 per month for the first two years which works out to approximately $180 for the first two years. After that it goes up to $17.49 a month. We also suggest subscribing to Site Scanner Basic which scans your site for malware and monitors your site’s reputation status on the most popular search engines and blacklists and will send you alerts in case of a problem. This is about $30 US a month.

Ongoing Costs

Webhosting: varies depending on hosting company but using Siteground as an example after the first two years it could be about $275 US per year.

Other webhosting companies are less expensive. For example, Web Hosting Canada in Quebec has a deal where new clients can get their hosting for three years at $3.89 per month for a total investment of about $140.

Domain name registration is approximately $16 per year.

Calendly is $10.00 US per month if you want more features than the free version.

Your theme is $140 US per year. The theme has a free version however the features in the paid version are worth the investment.
